Charlie Judy is a dynamic Human Resources Executive with expertise developed globally in organizations recognized for their people-centric environments; he brings over fifteen years of broad and progressive experience as a Strategic Business Advisor and HR Steward to external and internal clients through a strong focus on creativity and innovation; he has proven agility in ambiguous, complex and global environments.
Mr. Judy is the Vice President of Human Resources for TLC Vision, a public company and North America’s premier eye care services organization, providing optometrists and ophthalmologists the latest technology and services needed to deliver leading-edge eye care through a world-class patient experience. As a member of the company’s executive team, Charlie and his team are responsible for developing and delivering the best in workforce strategy, organization performance, employee relations, and HR operations for a 1,500 person organization across the US and Canada. Ultimately, they are focused on ensuring the “right people” are attracted to and retained by the business.
Charlie is also the Managing Director and founder of Hardesty Global-an HR consultancy that provided meaningful and lasting human resources advisory, support, program development, and project management to small and mid-sized organizations. Before founding Hardesty Global, he was the VP of HR for Maverick Technologies LLC-the largest and most prominent independent Controls Systems Integrator and Industrial Automation Consultancy in North America.
Charlie began his career with Deloitte & Touche in 1992 as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Thirteen years with the firm gave him a number of challenging and diverse experiences; his roles included an Audit Manager for a multi-national chemical and life sciences manufacturer, the Chief of Staff for the firm’s Chief HR Officer, a Senior HR Manager to a regional consulting practice which grew from 400 to 1,000 people during his tenure, and two long-term global assignments in Brussels, Belgium and Hyderabad, India in the financial, human resources, and off-shoring realms. He was instrumental in building Deloitte’s off-shoring practice as the Director of Talent Acquisition in India (his team hired 1,500 people during his assignment) and helped construct Deloitte’s internal executive recruiting function as the National Director of Partner Acquisition.
Charlie is a graduate of Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business and is also a certified Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR). He is a select member of Focus St. Louis’ flagship Leadership St. Louis Program and is active with HR Executive Forum, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the HR Management Association of Greater St. Louis (HRMA). He is passionate about Leadership Development, Corporate Citizenship, and his family.
